Desirable Walther P38, made in 1942, with milled finish, all matching, with era correct Walther magazine. SN: 5531j. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration P38 with 5” barrel, drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Stacked address on the left side of slide that includes “ac” manufacturers code, the date “42” and the serial number. Safety positions marked with a white highlighted “S” and a red highlighted “F”. The right side of slide with the usual three acceptances. The full serial number is repeated on the left side of the frame, under the barrel and the last few digits on the locking block. Fitted with the correct dark brown grips. Blued magazine with a single Eagle/359 accepted on the spine, “P.38” on the left side, and a floorplate numbered “4623c”.
Condition:
VG original finish with moderate wear in usual locations, including the frontstrap, as befitting a service pistol that has seen moderate holstering and handling. Bright bore with sharp rifling, negligible erosion. Near excellent grips, and magazine body, the floorplate showing considerable cleaning. Very bright bore with sharp rifling, slight erosion in grooves. Perfect manual mechanics. A nice, representative, original finish P38 as issued to the Nazi Army in 1942.
