Scarce and all-matching Walther P38 with FN ac 44 slide, Spreewerke cyq barrel, German Military “0” Series Pistol, 04176, FB01491
Description:
One of the more unusual Walther P38s, SN: 04176., cal: 9mmP, made in 1944, assembled with an FN manufactured slide marked with a large stacked “ac/44” and a Spreewerke “cyq” marked barrel. It is otherwise a standard configuration P38 with 5” barrel, drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Safety positions marked with a white highlighted “S” and a red highlighted “F”. Fitted with the correct dark brown grips and jvd coded magazine marked P38 with E/WaA706(8?) acceptance. Disassembly shows all matching serial numbers with an in-the-white locking block.
Condition:
EXC as re-dipped with super sharp markings that have raised edges. The only way to tell this gun was re-dipped is that the color is too dark and there is a scattering of micro pits on the slide under the finish. The same applies to the magazine. Crisp original grips. Very bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A scarce, desirable and all matching P38 “0” series pistol from late WWII!
