Description:
Walther Model PPK pistol in 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP), serial number 158628A, made in West Germany, proofed 1972, now non-factory gold plated with original ivory colored grip and finger extension. Fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight, both with red highlights. Slide with rear loaded indicator. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner / “Made in Germany”, followed by the two-line address referencing the manufacturer, model, and caliber. 60 degree safety with a red dotted fire position. The right side of the barrel boss is dated 72, with the Eagle N proofing repeated on the adjacent slide. Full serial number on the right side of the slide and frame that is also suffixed with “A”. The pistol has been aftermarket gold plated and now fitted with upgraded but factory original ivory colored grips and an ivory colored magazine extension for the primary magazine whose body is in the white. The spare magazine has an unmarked blued body with five indicator holes and a flat gold-plated floor plate. Pistol and spare magazine are housed in an original black textured postwar Walther factory case with blood-red velvet interior, four gray risers having been added to the base.
Condition:
Excellent condition with the pistol retaining 99+% of the reapplied gold finish. Polishing was minimal as markings are sharp and the proofing remains raised/cratered on the barrel boss, and slide. Professional red painted accents in appropriate areas, grips and finger extension as new. The body of the primary magazine has been stripped of its original finish to present a gray appearance. The spare magazine retains virtually all of its original blue, the floor plate having been gold-plated. VG-EXC case with minimal compartmentalization in the base whose exterior has the previously mentioned risers. If you liked the “Pimp Your Ride” series, you will love the process having been carried forward to this pistol!
