Standard configuration mid production Webley Fosbery with 6” barrel whose rib is marked “P.WEBLEY & SON. LONDON & BIRMINGHAM”. Top strap is retailer marked “WILKINSON/PALL MALL” with the backstrap having ownership attribution “V.DUPREE”, shown to be a 2nd Lieutenant, 6th Battalion of The Royal Fusiliers, on 1, Nov 1907. Usual cylinder holding six cartridges whereby each chamber has been proofed, cylinder #320 on front face. The left side of the top strap marked “WEBLEY FOSBERY” with the left frame having the winged W&S logo followed by the caliber .455 cordite. Serial number on the right side of the frame. Inventory #1578 on bottom of trigger guard. Hard rubber grips secured with a single transverse screw the left grip molded with “SAFE” designation. Rotatable lanyard ring at base of frame.

Condition:
Approximately 80+% original rust blue finish, with scattered spotting and grip strap fading as pictured. Comparable condition grips, the left panel missing a small chip at top left, the rest gently transitioning into a uniform patina. Comparable condition original grips with the left panel having a chip in the top corner. Outstanding, near mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A very attractive, original finish Webley Fosbery, marked by a well known retailer and personalized by a “V. DUPREE” whose name appears in the 1907 Military registry. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
