Description:
Desirable Walther P38, made in early 1941, with high polished slide, all matching, with letter-block correct Walther magazine #9808c. SN: 4785c. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration P38 with 5” barrel, drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Stacked address on the left side of slide that includes “ac” manufacturers code, the date “41” and the serial number. Safety positions marked with a white highlighted “S” and a red highlighted “F”. The right side of slide with the usual three acceptances, two of which were applied after bluing. The full serial number is repeated on the left side of the frame, under the barrel and on the locking block. Fitted with the correct dark brown grips. Blued magazine with a double accepted spine, “P.38” on the left side and floorplate whose toe is numbered “9808c”.
Condition:
Good condition Walther P38 with original finish showing moderately extensive use as reflected by the wear and scattered discolorations around barrel and sides of slide. Near excellent front strap. Grips in comparable or better condition. Magazine with considerable wear, the left side having been cleaned. Very bright bore with sharp rifling, slight erosion in grooves. Perfect manual mechanics. An original finish, matching Walther P38, that was issued to the Nazi Army in 1941.
