Standard configuration Remington Rand M1911A1 with ramp front sight and drift adjustable rear sight having square notch. Left side of slide with usual two line Remington Rand address. “P” in front of rear sight. “FJA” Frank J Atwood inspector initials on left side & crossed cannons proofs on right side that barely break the parkerized finish. Right side of frame marked with SN, “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”, “M1911A1 U.S.ARMY”. All components parkerized/salt blued as correct. Barrel lug marked “HS” on right side by High Standard, ‘P’ on opposing side. Keyes Fibre grips with escutcheon rings around screws. Late seven round magazine with “S” on inner toe.
Condition:
EXC+ original condition, with minimal sharp edge wear, usual scratch around slide release. Comparable condition grips. Floorplate of magazine beginning to tone with tip slightly bent. Bright bore with minor etching. Perfect manual mechanics. An extremely attractive Remington Rand 1911A1, made 1943, that would be difficult to upgrade!
