Description:

Highly desirable, high condition Mauser C96, Red 9, with Prussian Eagle on frame behind floorplate. Complete with comparable condition imperial accepted non-matching stock and original 1917 dated leather carrier with follower spring in pouch and original cleaning rod. SN: 54772. Cal: 9mmP. Pistol is an original standard configuration Red 9 with 5.5” barrel, fixed front and 50-500 rear sight. Short extractor and two lug firing pin. Usual chamber markings with full SN on left chamber flat. Crown/C/Crown/U on left side of barrel extension. Military acceptance on right side. Prussian Eagle on bottom of frame behind floorplate. Full serial number or last few digits on bolt, bolt stop, hammer, subframe and back of frame. Two line Mauser address on right side of frame. Disassembly shows all matching numbers including both grips. Original lanyard ring present. Complete with original Military accepted stock whose lug is number 403 and original carrier dated 1917 with follower spring and original cleaning rod.

Condition:

Near EXC original finish pistol with slight fading in the usual contact areas under barrel, forward projection of magazine well, and slight thinning of straps as imaged. Comparable condition stock with toning of the fire blued hinge and lug. No cracks or splits in body. VG+ leather carrier with crazing as photographed. Comparable condition cleaning rod. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A beautiful ensemble whose pistol is marked with the desirable Prussian Eagle.
