This typical Chinese Warlord – Era pistol with dimpled slide is a single action blowback with external hammer having a fixed front sight, top mounted extractor (missing), and no rear sight. Both sides of the slide and frame have a scattering falsified FN and Mauser markings. Full serial number is on the top of the chamber, right side of slide and frame. The left side of the frame has been fitted with a mid-frame Eibar-type safety. Smooth horn grips. Unmarked magazine with 2 indicator holes and fixed floorplate. This exact pistol is pictured in the “Pistols of the Warlords 1911-1949” by Ian McCollum pages 168-169.
Generally VG original finish with sharp edge wear, dings, and oxidation consistent with a pistol that has seen moderate use. The barrel band is loose and the extractor is missing, though the firing pin is present. Face of the hammer has impact deformation as pictured. Dull bore with easily discernible rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Dimple slide pistols are seldom encountered, nice to have one that has been pictured in a well distributed reference book. NOT TO BE FIRED! NOT TO BE FIRED! NOT TO BE FIRED!
