High condition Borchardt C93 made by LOEWE, caliber 7.65mm, early production, this example SN 101, all matching except for the replacement magazine. The rust blued pistol is fitted with the usual 7 5/8 in barrel having fixed front sight over barrel band and “V” notch rear sight blade secured with two screws. Forward toggle link with patent reference. Left side of barrel and barrel extension with BUG proofs. Single line legend referencing Borchardt patent on right side of barrel extension. Full serial number “101” on bottom of frame, barrel, trigger, and all usual small parts except for the unnumbered magazine. Sliding safety is gray case hardened; strawed sear; fire blued trigger, screws, anti-rebound latch, and recoil spring housing covers. Walnut checkered grips with broad border. Original magazine whose number has been removed from the plug.
Condition:
Near EXC with bright original rust blue, the toggle area arguably touched up, with minimal sharp edge wear and handling marks from a pistol that has seen light use. Chip/lip missing from the anti-rebound latch component in rail. Grips with sharp checkering, retaining most varnish. VG/G magazine with moderate wear, oil soaked plug with number having been removed. Mirror bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics except as related to the anti-rebound latch. A classic, early, developmental pistol, the first manufactured to use a toggle locked mechanism, and well known predecessor to the ubiquitous Luger.
