Mauser Black Widow Luger made in 1942, coded byf, with holster, spare extruded magazine, cleaning rod, takedown tool, two lanyard cords and strap. This standard configuration gun has a 5 inch barrel with drift adjustable front sight and “V” notched rear sight. Chamber dated “42”, toggle linkage with byf code. Full serial number on forward frame, under barrel, and on left side of barrel extention, last two digits on all the usual matching parts except for the holdopen that is numbered “62”. Caliber additionally noted under barrel. Scattered post war German proofs, most notable inside frame. Original unnumbered grips. Neither of the fxo extruded magazines have a numbered base, the aluminum base having been struck with a facisimile acceptance. Additional markings include the caliber under the barrel and post war German proofing in usual locations. US import marks as photographed. Complete with repaired holster, two leather lanyard cords and strap.
Condition:
VG as refurbished with holster and handling wear in expected locations. The holdopen has no visible defects but does not function with either magazine, the aluminum base magazine is difficult to remove after insertion. Mirror bright bore. Cocks, fires upon trigger pull, the safety blocking sear properly. Holster is oil soaked with takedown, cleaning rod pockets, and lid having been restitched. A nice ensemble though one that will need some work to function properly.
