Scarce and desirable Mauser Banner P.08 with Austrian Bundes Heer (Federal Army) “Eagle BH” markings, approximately 200 of these made for the Austrian Federal Army circa 1934 to 1936. The pistol a 4″ barrel, drift adjustable front sight and “V” notch rear sight. Blank chamber. “Mauser Banner” on the front toggle link and P.08 marking on the left side of the frame. The full serial number without suffix is on the front of the frame and left side of the barrel extention. All usual small parts matched to the last two digits of the serial number, the barrel and walnut checkered grips correctly unmarked. Commercial Eagle N proof on the left side of the receiver in front of the serial number. The Austrian “Eagle BH” Army marking on the left side of the frame directly below the takedown lever. Post war extruded magazine with “forced matching” serial number.
Condition:
Approximately 96-97% original salt blue with holster wear and grip strap fading in expected places. Comparable condition oil darkened grips with deep checkering and scattered areas of blunting. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A very scarce and interesting Military pistol that is seldom offered for sale.
