Standard configuration military Luger with 4” barrel having drift adjustable front sight and fixed v-notch rear sight. Middle toggle link marked with S/42 code. Full serial number with letter suffix on front of frame with the serial number repeated under the barrel and on left side of receiver. Usual Waffenamt acceptances on right side of receiver. Disassembly shows all matching numbers except for the unnumbered replacement grips and blued magazine whose aluminum base is marked “5736 p/+/E/63”.
Condition:
Approximately 95-97% largerly refurbished salt blue with some thinning on the barrel and fading on the sideplate hump. Front and backstraps show no wear of the refurbished finish. Comparable condition small parts with enhanced strawing and fireblue to match the appearance of the pistol. Grips with some staining, appropriate darkening, and minimal diamond flattening. Very bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A very good looking, as professionally refurbished, pistol from 1936!
