Designed by SIG, this pistol was manufactured by their Hammerli subsidiary in Lenzburg. It is estimated that fewer than 3,000 pistols in .38 Special WC were manufactured in total, this example one of the earliest guns made in 1975. This is a standard configuration pistol, with fully adjustable target grade sights, manufacturer reference on the left side of the slide, SN and caliber repeated on the right side of the barrel and slide, the serial number on the frame. Fitted with smooth oversized ergonomic grips. Typical SIG designed magazines with a zippered spine. Takedown tool, Hammerli sticker, P240 instruction booklet, and hand numbered shipping box whose original gray foam has disintegrated, the bottom section newer foam rubber.
A virtually new SIG Hammerli P240, .38 SPL W.C., a massive Swiss target pistol, reportedly 3000 completed in this caliber, with spare magazine, takedown tool, multi-lingual instruction booklet, and an original shipping box.
99+% original blue with comparable condition grips. Magazines with insertional wear on their spine. VG+ literature with expected folds and stains. Crisp shipping box with replaced foam. A massive, top condition and scarce target pistol that should appeal to every collector of Swiss/high precision firearms!
